Lawyers Hub is proud to introduce the outstanding cohort selected for the 2026 Africa AI Policy Fellowship. Chosen from a fiercely competitive pool of applicants, these 97 emerging and mid-career professionals represent 30 nationalities across Africa and beyond. They are legal minds, researchers, and innovators committed to advancing digital rights and ready to drive transformational change in technology regulation.

From Consumers to Co-Architects
At Lawyers Hub, our position is clear. Africa must transition from a passive consumer of artificial intelligence to an active co-architect of global AI governance. This fellowship is a direct investment in that vision. By empowering the next generation of policy experts, we ensure that the rules governing emerging technologies are written with African realities, values, and priorities at their core.

A Rigorous Three-Month Collaborative Journey
Over the next three months, this exceptional cohort will engage deeply with tech regulation through rigorous training, hands-on mentorship, and practical policy formulation. Divided into Regional Working Groups across West, East, North, and Southern Africa, the fellows will conduct vital research and share cross-border perspectives to frame actionable analyses.
